Industrial Emissions Monitoring
Methane is both an important raw material in hydrogen generation, is a common fuel in industrial combustion, and is used in the production of plastics, fabrics, paper and other mass-market products. For environmental, safety, regulatory and financial reasons, industrial facilities that store or burn methane, or use it as a process gas, face a challenge of keeping it inside the process and not emitting it to the atmosphere.
QLM’s system provides reliable, continuous monitoring of methane emissions on a versatile, scalable platform to satisfy the needs of the multiple industries using methane in different ways.

The camera’s potential is recognised by process analytical instrument manufacturer AMETEK Land. Peter Drögmöller, director of innovation and technology, says:

“QLM’s gas imager technology demonstrators have achieved detection levels that are remarkable for uncooled detector technology and very limited laser power, both are key requirements to get certification for the use in hazardous environments for 24/7 monitoring.
I believe that as products these will allow our industry to move from intermittent scheduled inspections under hot working permit to much more effective continuous monitoring, a major step forward.”
