QLM is delighted to welcome Puneet Chhabra as Head of Software Development

Dr. Puneet Chhabra has joined the team as our Head of Software Development. Puneet is an experienced tech leader and innovator who tries to link science and good practice to make a better world. He brings over a decade of experience in systems, sensing and engineering, filing multiple patents on signal processing and sensor systems and is a passionate founder and CTO in the deep tech space. In his previous role as a CTO he’s taken ideas from concepts to real-world products that have served the Utilities and Rail sectors. He holds a joint PhD in Electrical Engineering focusing on signal and waveform processing of SPAD LiDAR from the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University. He has also held the position of a Senior Scientist position at BAE Systems where he received the Chairman’s Innovation Award for his work on autonomous vehicle safety and sensor fusion.

Puneet said: “I have been passionate about single-photon Lidars since I graduated almost a decade ago and such interests pushed me towards a PhD. QLM’s ethos of enabling Net Zero aligns perfectly with my commitment to our climate crisis. Lidar technology has huge potential and has applications in autonomous vehicles, remote sensing and defense & security. QLM’s approach in imaging Gas leaks at longer distances can have a huge impact on fighting climate change. I am proud to be part of a team that helps put this technology to use at scale.”
