QLM Demonsration for HRH Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh at IoP

QLM joined a cohort of current and former Institute of Physics winners in being brought to Royal attention at the Physics Powering the Green Economy reception, held at the Institute of Physics on February 8th. Global Applications Lead Doug Millington-Smith and Head of R&D Andrew Weld were honoured to introduce QLM's revolutionary Quantum Gas Lidar technology to HRH Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh, KG, GCVO, as well as to a range of esteemed members and guests of the institute. Physics Powering the Green Economy is an IOP flagship impact project, highlighting how physics has enabled the green economy of today and will continue to do so in the future. QLM's unique quantum-enabled approach to the continuous monitoring of methane emissions, one of the biggest challenges in the push for Net-Zero and beyond, ideally demonstrates the power of physics to deliver groundbreaking solutions to some of the world's biggest problems.
