QLM Awarded New Set of Patents, US 12,111,335 and GB2617370

QLM has been awarded another set of patents, US 12,111,335 and GB2617370, on how our lidar camera measures methane emission rates. We image both the shape and concentration of a leak plume and use our understanding of how the wind is shaping the plume to calculate exactly how much gas is being emitted. The lidar also measures the 3D structure of all the solid objects around the plume so we can make computational fluid dynamic (CFD) models of how the wind sweeps around objects as it gusts and changes direction. Our CTO Xiao Ai is using CFD done by our Product Engineer Sophia Martin to teach a neural network to predict even more accurately how much methane is being emitted. Low cost lidar and opensource CFD and AI are combining to tell us exactly where and how much methane is being emitted, anywhere we look.
