Bessemer Society Summit and Showcase
post by Murray Reed.
Last week Paul Hughes and I joined The Bessemer Society Summit and Showcase event in Bishopsgate, London, with a stand for QLM Technology giving a short pitch and meeting many leaders and supporters of cutting-edge hard-tech enterprises across the UK. How the UK can scale its nascent technology start-ups and ‘reindustrialise’ the UK, rather than just sell them off and out for foreign capital, was a major theme. As is unavoidable in UK forums the level of patriotic pissing and moaning was high, but there was a great balance of intelligent perspective and vision as well, particularly from Dame Anne Glover, Sarah Haywood , David Richards, and Stan Boland. We presented QLM’s scalable lidar methane monitoring as crucial to both understanding how to reduce climate change and enabling new renewable energy from waste to be a massive and secure domestic energy supply.
A huge thanks to Alex Stewart for organising such an impressive and inspiring meeting, hopefully the first in a long series.
