Identifying Individual, Concurrent Events on a Site
Here we focus is on the value of continuous information. Let’s say your recent OGI LDAR survey picked up a couple of minor leaks – but did it record the intermittent triggering of the pressure relief valve? Did it quantify the methane slip from the combined heat & power (CHP) engine? Or did it measure the changing valve seep which happens as the tank fills? These are the types of process-related details that continuous, lidar-based emissions monitoring can best map out, spatially and temporally. By linking site SCADA and time-series emissions data from QLM’s Quantum Gas Lidar, patterns can be discerned, and the benefit of process optimization realized. Here’s an example of FOUR, concurrent events that happened recently at METEC – each with its own unique time-dependent emission profile, duration and specific component leak location – that were individually identified and characterized by the QLM system, despite their spatial proximity and overlap in time.
