QLM Lidar & Legacy OGI Compared: The Advantage of Seeing in 3D!
What is one key difference between QLM’s quantum gas imaging lidar and legacy gas imaging? Well, importantly, QLM’s lidar sees things in 3D since lidar imaging inherently measures 3D point clouds, and the resulting 2D images like those below can be produced to include that 3D perspective. Here you see the difference between plumes that are either in front of or behind infrastructure. This goes to our ability to know exactly where plumes are traversing with respect to solid objects that we localize in 3D, and allows us to analyze the scene and determine exactly what is leaking, where.
