Quantification from Plume Tail Measurements

Halloween we showcase this spooky “ghost” plume. The QLM camera can see both the diffuse “tail end” of plumes as well as the high-concentration parts where they begin. In this ghost-like plume, we are seeing just the plume tail since its origin is at left, just outside the field of view. Since we know what the wind is doing, or by following the density gradient, we can pan the camera over to see what component is leaking if we want to, but in fact, we can actually get a good flow rate measurement from just the plume tail.
