Quantification of Very Large Emissions

We recently did some testing at the BakerRisk facility near La Vernia, TX where we measured controlled releases of methane and natural gas mixtures. The goal of the testing was to demonstrate detection/alerting and quantification of loss of containment events and fugitive emissions in an Oil & Gas application. Below is one of the methane plumes we imaged – this was a big one – 87 g/s (313 kg/hr, 16300 scfh, 7700 L/min). In the photos you can see the QLM camera and a drone shot of the controlled release facility and various tents housing the various systems under test.
