QLM Deployment with UQ Gas & Energy Transition Research Centre

Some fantastic field measurements of fugitive methane emissions from our customers at UQ Gas & Energy Transition Research Centre!

"Last month we introduced you to a new autonomous trailer system to detect, visualize, and measure fugitive methane emissions. Today we're excited to share monitoring footage from recent fieldwork in Queensland. The footage shows a sequence of surveys revealing fluctuating emission rates and the plume direction and extent varying with the wind conditions. The trailer, with its methane LiDAR developed by QLM Technology , offers 4-D visualizations of methane sources, scanning, focusing, and recording data over extended periods. It provides comprehensive details on methane emissions, including when, where, how long, and at what rates they occur. Gas & Energy Transition Research Centre’s Assoc Prof Phil Hayes and Dr Sebastian Hoerning conducted the recent fieldwork and are currently preparing a paper based on continuous monitoring data to understand factors that influence emission rates.
