Thoughts on COP 29 in Baku

Post by Murray Reed:

"With COP 29 in Baku, methane is back in the headlines, so the Financial Times has published a new article on industrial emissions. https://lnkd.in/eEBNDXau Their headline “How oil and gas companies disguise their methane emissions” has a tabloid tone though and, by not acknowledging the world needs natural gas to replace oil and coal until net-cleaner energy arrives in volume, they underline the polarisation. Satellite and aircraft data on the big picture is motivating but it is “improved on-the-ground measurements”, as the FT article says, that are closing the methane measurement gap. QLM working in partnership with industry to deliver practical control of methane emissions and keep gas in the pipe around the world, from the sun in the USA to the mud in the UK, is good news."
