New Tunable Diode Laser Gas Lidar patents
QLM Technology has recently been awarded another two new patents, US12,158,419 and EP4291872, expanding on the UK Gas Detection Tuning Modulation patent GB2607646 we were awarded in 2023. Like the UK original, the new patents cover how we use digital code to separate out the different wavelengths in our gas lidar to get highly accurate and unambiguous images of just methane. Water, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and many other gases, and even variations in sunlight and temperature, can all confuse many methane detectors. But by measuring the absorption of more than 20 different infrared wavelengths every microsecond we guarantee our lidar is always only measuring methane. Our Optics R&D Engineer Sara is testing and qualifying new more integrated and higher power tuneable semiconductor lasers so that we can see faster, further and with lower cost. QLM’s quantum lidar methane camera gives molecular level resolution at industrial scale so you can see where, when, and exactly how much methane is being emitted anywhere you need to.
