QLM's Water Meter for Greenhouse Gases
With the world using the atmosphere as an open sewer for greenhouse gases (GHGs) I think there are lessons to be learned from when we used the Thames that way. London suffered through hundreds of years of cholera epidemics until the 1860’s when the government, having been shut down themselves by the issue, finally invested in a closed sewer system and enabled London to become a world leading metropolis. The key enablers for this beyond investment were first to couple water supply and waste-water treatment by law, and second to install water meters in every home and business to measure the flow of product, and by inference the flow of waste. The accuracy and simplicity of water meters mean they are trusted, and everyone pays their bills.
For GHGs we keep avoiding coupling supply and treatment together, so we need an equally direct and trusted GHG meter to enable climate control. QLM Technology’s quantum methane lidar camera, which can see exactly where, when, and how much GHGs are being emitted, is the water meter for methane and carbon dioxide. With new regulations that enforce supplier investment into GHG emissions reduction and accurate universal monitoring we will stop creating a monster soup in the atmosphere.
